- What is the Craftsman Lawn Tractor Cooling System?
Patented misting technology has allowed the development of the world’s first effective rider cooling system for use in lawn tractors. Utilizing a low pressure air pump and an on board water supply housed in a unit mounted at the rear of the tractor, the misting head, located at the front of the tractor, produces micron size water droplets that flash evaporate and create a significant temperature reduction for the rider. - How does it work?
The system provides cooling to the rider through evaporation. Water requires energy to evaporate. As the water droplets evaporate, the energy exchange results in temperature reduction. The expected temperature drop in the localized rider’s area will vary on the climate conditions, but cooling up to 35 degrees F can be provided under ideal conditions. - Won’t the mist get the operator wet?
Unlike other low pressure misting, this system produces water droplets small enough to evaporate completely. To optimize the effectiveness of the system in different climatic conditions, an adjustment valve is included which allows the rider to change the characteristics of the mist to ensure cooling without wetting. - How long will the system run between fillings?
Because of the patented misting technology, this system uses a fraction of the water that other misting systems do. The rider can enjoy the benefits of continuous cooling for 1.5 hours (at nominal flow conditions) on a single filling of the water reservoir. - What tractors are compatible with the system?
The system can be installed on most of the Craftsman branded tractors that utilize regulated charging systems. The system will also fit select Husqvarna tractors. - How is the system installed?
The system is designed to be installed on the tractor at the store (with the purchase of a new tractor) or by the consumer in less than 30 minutes. Installation is simple and only requires the mounting of the power unit and misting arm to the tractor. Installation is completed with two hoses and an electrical connection to the tractor’s power supply. - Is there any maintenance required?
To ensure that the system operates at peak performance it is suggested that the water tank is drained after every use and is conditioned at regular intervals. Additionally, the inline water and air supply filters are designed to be replaced annually. Please refer to your owner’s manual for additional details. - Where can I purchase a Craftsman Rider Cooling System?
